Download/unzip the latest fix and save it onto USB flash drive.
Connect the USB flash drive to USB port in receiver.
Go to "System Information" than select "Receiver Upgrade."
Select USB and press OK button.

Select the FIRMWARE upgrade file and press OK.

When file transfer is completed, the receiver will be automatically reboot.

GrassHopper I'm going to set my Ultra up this week. Are those Instructions still the best way to set it up? Could you post the latest down load file for the Flashdrive for me? Also what would be you Number 1 Tip for sucess ? I'm pretty smart but it seems like it might be pretty hard to set this stuff am I right

Hello....I just got my VS Ultra last weekend and just so scared to touch it that I may blow it or what not. I have several questions and here's hoping that you may help me. I've read thru the discussions, even followed arboritsman's? link on faqs and keys, but I still am not sure how to go about it. Like setting up the receiver, flashing, antenna and such. I used to have a DirecTV so whatever dish came with that package is the kind I have on my roof. That video tutorial on antenna is kinda cool and interesting. Now, here's the deal:
1. That flashing instruction seems easy enough but is that all I need to do to set up my receiver?
2. And what FIRMWARE (not exactly sure what this is...checked the glossary and every time it gives me a definition, it just gives me another technical term that I have to look up) do I need to upload in my USB?
3. Does it matter which USB port I use (front or back)?
4. Do I upload the the "factory file" in my computer first? And if I have to, how do I do this?
5. Do I have to tinkle around with my antenna to align or something?

I hope you can give me a detailed instruction so I may be able to set this up hopefully before the snow falls (tho we already got a bit of sprinkling already this morning).

What big words are you having problems with?? USB ? Flash? Firmware? Download or Copy?

Wow, buddy thanks for the big help there. Was that sarcasm I detect? But anyways, if you read my post right and fully understood it, you'll notice that I'm not completely an Idiot. I do understand what USB, flash, ports and antenna is. It's the technical terms I have a problem with like Firmware, TSOP, IRD. You know, not everyone do understand what those alphabets stands for. Now, if you're not going to offer any useful ideas, please don't waste my time and email space (for I do receive reply notification in my email).

- absolute terrific step by step BIBLE for the newbies and all the rest..BTW I'm sure similar steps can be applied to other compatiable VIEWSAT models such as Platinum and LITE n so forth provided they have IDENTICAL ports to finish the job.Apparently some don't have USB connect but using the null modem wire and walking the rest of steps should do the trick.

I am in New Zealand and never see any keys relating to the Optus C1 sat.
Maybe there is a NZ section I am missing but not sure where to look.
Does anyone have information of keys for this Sat? It is either Aurora or Irdeto. They have been rolling so I understand these last couple of weeks but don't always do that.

Hi everyone again
sorry hit the wrong button since I am not quite finish.
I need help and some information so please help me, I am little shakey about doing
anything to my VS ultra and it is still needs a latest bin to download beside that I
dont what its need. I would like to knowthat how can I download the bin on my
usb flash drive from the computer before loading it to my receiver, and what is
factory bin and when I need it, and what it does.
