Re: Step By Step Flashing Instructions For Ultra
Hello Grasshopper
I just got a VS Ultra and I am trying to setup but after reading the manual and this post here I still cannot get the Ultra to accept the .pgm file. This is a brand new receiver directly from factory. I know I am doing something wrong cause several prople have noted how easy it was to fix theire using the same step-by-step that u posted. Please tell me what files I need to download and in which order. I am setting up thru 232 cable.
Tks

Re: Step By Step Flashing Instructions For Ultra
Hello Barry 15
tks for ur quick reply. I just got the receiver and did not know about the USB until I got home and started reading. I will get a usb stick but I am trying to setup now with cable. Yes I did unzipp the file. Seeing that this is a new receiver ( never programmed before) do I need to load firmware 131 before the .pgm file.

Re: Step By Step Flashing Instructions For Ultra
Hello CDO
I tried loading the 131 fileusing the PVR Loader but the receiver did not accept it. The progression bar did not move. Incidently the receiver showing noCH all the time. Does this mean anything. It came that way when I bought it.

Re: Step By Step Flashing Instructions For Ultra
I transfered the latest BIN file to my USB. Went to my receiver and hit menu, receiver upgrade and USB. Downloaded the file and then did a blind channel search. Saved the channels and hit exit. When I hit guide all of the channels are still locked....am I missing something?????

You Know, seens i have my VS ultra, i did not use loader. Use your USB buddy: just follow this: In the Remote press MENU:
1]system information>>Receiver upgrade> press OK> USB>press OK>highlight the factory bin V131 then press OK. Then wait until it is finish reboot.
And load the latest BIN. The same process USB.

Re: Step By Step Flashing Instructions For Ultra
I found the file for the V131... how and what do I do to get the Bin.
Once I get the files I transfer them into my wrar program. Then extract to my memory stick.. is this the right way.
I really appreciate all of your help. I am losing my mind!!!!
I could probably watch some relaxing TV if I had any...LOL

Re: Step By Step Flashing Instructions For Ultra
After adding new bin on 24 N0v ,I find that PID 0106 has been added to the Nagra code for D*** net. However, the keys entered there do not match the latest keychanges on 21 Nov for 0106,yet all PPV ,international as well as Adult channels are viewable on ULTRA set.In fact the keys relate to prior to 21 Nov.
In case 0106 keys are changed again ,would the system auto roll to change 0106 keys unlike in the past when new bin had to be added?
Can 0106 keys be changed manually now with the new bin?
Please update the instructions to cover the queries raised by me.
Thanks in anticipation.

Yes, if Mac is equipped with Win xp, winzip,& vmfusion. Other ways of running windows on a mac seem to work also.
G5 macs can download the unzipped file and put it to a usb stick for transfer to a windows equipped mac to be unzipped and put back on the usb stick also. Just FYI. Will post more as am able.
Maybe there should be, or is there a Mac area?

Hello! I don't know how well this is known, but you can upgrade the programing of a Viewsat Ultra using a G5 Mac running OS X Tiger, the latest version of neo-office, a USB flash drive, by way of the USB port on the Ultra.
Unzipping the winzip or winrar file was done with the neo-office installed on osx mac. Transferring unzipped file to the windows formated flash drive and then doing just as Grasshopper so graciously instructed in his tutorial.
I sincerely hope this helps the Apple followers.
