Yes I have the LOCAL CHANNEL REGION set to LOS ANGELES and LOCAL CHANNEL set to ON. When I key in Channel 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 etc using SAT Echostar package, nothing happens and the channel remains on that currently watched. Do I need Echo 7 to receive my local "LOCALS"?

Try the sat button and then go to all satellites then try your channels again.

ok so I have tried your Locals and no local section is avalible for me just trying to figure out if it is the area that i am in.

Testing Vs Ultra
Recieving 119,110,91, and 82

Maybe the local channel mapinmg is on another sat for me like 129
I am In the northeastern part of america maybe that is why...

enter the largest city that is closest to you, the city that has the major networks...

For what it's worth I also do not have the "local" option when I select the "sat" button on my remote. I have local channels on and local selection. When selecting "sat" on the remote I get the following options;
1. Echostar 8,10
2. Echostar 7
3 Echostar Package
4. BEV Package
5. All satallites

i get echo 8,10, echo 7, and have my locals set and on.....i dont get them, should i do a chanel scan to make them work???? i have no local pacage when i press sat either

Locals with Ultra- Menu,User setting, Turn local channels on search for your city and select it, and rescan for channels. Local channel mapping working perfectly on my Ultra.

do you have to use one of those oblong dishes with dual lnb to get locals to work? i have 3 plain old 18 inch round dishes up to get echo 8,10 echo7 and nimq 1,3 but have no locals...i get networks and everything, just not my locals and i have done everything mentioned in this thread

viewsatultra go to usersettings enter 0000 go sistemsettings scroll to bottom follow on screan instructions you see a list of citys in allstates chose the one you want be shure you have local channels turned onit will be at the very bottom of systems settings then do a auto scan of 119 110 if you use auto it willnot put the same channel in 2 times when you do this skan be shure you go to scan all first good luck works for me in n.c.

i tried it, i am trying to pick up huntigton WVA channels, i live in southern ohio....no luck. thanks for the help though

I'm having a problem with viewsat ultra VS2000 too. I did everything that was stating in this thread and this is what I'm getting.

go to menu, then User Settings. This is the options that I'm getting

Screen Type
Channel Mode
Menu Transperancy
Menu Language
Audio Language
Information Timeout
Beep for scanning
Sort by SID

There are no other options, how do I choose my region?
