I have heard a lot of talk about the HD receivers on this site, some say to wait, that they are to high right now. I think with HBO and some of the other large movie channels going to HD, this will definitely drive the price down. My advice would be to wait a little bit and see. If you are determined to buy one, you will see they are very expensive right now compared to other STB's...

I agree with jc, I would also suggest waiting for a while longer as the prices will come down and they still have to work out some bugs with them. I believe some of the mods would agree with this too.

If price is a concern check out the Captain 8000HD. I have no problem vouching for the quality of this STB. I have been testing one for about a month and it really is a nice system.
currently they can be found for around $315.00US

I just talked to them, they have 7 sonicview 8000 HD receivers left. They're willing to sell for $480, but you have to call in first. remember to mention my name (grasshopper)
