Re: Help Please "Wrong File Image"

The latest .bin file for your unit is PFTAUSW-080104U-1

This is the correct file to load.

Re: Help Please "Wrong File Image"

Thanks everyone so far but no go. My file I am trying to load is PFTAUSW-080104U-1 which is the latest one I belive. I only have one computer so I can't try loading it on a differant one. I did another search and found that someone had a bad memory stick with a corupt file and formated it and after that it worked so I am going to try that. I will keep you posted.

Re: Help Please "Wrong File Image"

I still have had no luck so far. Now I am going out to buy a new memory stick and try that and after that I am going over to a friends house and try his computor to load to another new stick. I will keep you posted. Just another quick question what brand of memory sticks has anoyone use with no problems since the Ultra came out. I have a SanDisk cruzer mini 512mb and after some reserch on the net a lot of people say they are no good but I guess you might find that with any product. Thanks

Re: Help Please "Wrong File Image"

Before you run out and get a new stick make sure your old one isn't full. I found out the hard way. I got wrong image file because my stick didn't have enough memory left so it only loaded part of the file.

This happened to me before. Format the Drive then just unzip it like you always would.

Re: Help Please "Wrong File Image"

All I use this stick for is the ultra so its gots lots of room but a good suggestion. I also have formated it and wipped it clean and reloaded the files and still nothing. I don't think it is the stick but for the price now it doesn't hurt to have a new one anyway. I am also going to download a new winzip and see if there happens to be a problem with the program. I am really graspping at straws here so keep the suggestions coming. Thanks

Did you format it to fat32? If yes then I'm at a loss. I have however heard of people having problems with some brands of usb thumb drives with their ultras.

Re: Help Please "Wrong File Image"

One last suggestion would be to delete the latest bin from your computer and download it again and install again. You may have a corrupt file

Re: Help Please "Wrong File Image"

I have downloaded bothe the factory v131 file and the latest bin and have also downloaded a new winzip program so I am just waiting to get my new stick so everything should be new and clean. Do you know when you get your memory sticks do they come with fat32 as my old one was already formated and all I did was use it for the last year and it worked fine. Thanks

As long as it's not a really cheap thumb drive it should be formatted for you already. If you are going to load the factory file I would recommend doing it via the serial cable and the using the loader 2 pgm, not through usb upgrade way, just incase the usb port on your stb is where the problem is. P.S. You can use the loader program to update the bin as well, you don't have to use the thumb drive.

Re: Help Please "Wrong File Image"

I believe when you first install a new stick in your computer it will tell you if it needs to be formatted. Also when you go to buy your stick, make sure it is USB 2.0 compliant.

Re: Help Please "Wrong File Image"

"IT WORKS" Thanks everyone for your help. I used the serial cable and the downloader file which I havent used since I retired my first Viewsat and my Ultra is now up and working. It must have been a corrupt file someplace but not sure were the problem was. When the next download comes I will again use my new memory stick and USB port and hope it works. Again thanks.
