VS Ultra rebooting before done loading...

I've purchased a new vs2000 ultra and am trying to load it. After reading many guides, I loaded latest ultra bin into my receiver via usb stick. Everything went well until at 59% of channel scan receiver froze and rebooted. I then had to re enter sat info and start scan over again. This time it only got to 6% & froze etc. Sometimes it freezes before I even start scanning while trying to enter info. Then I hit factory default and loaded factory bin v131, then latest bin again with null cable and computer. Same outcome. I tried a different cable and dish (as I have 3 birds aimed), no difference. A friend came over with a working ultra and we cloned to his, and same difference. Any clues? I have no switch installed yet as I was trying to load one bird just to see how receiver worked. I did switch to second out of three birds in case it was a problem with cable, lnb etc. Same result. The second bird is in use with 3100 receiver's using plastic and dp34 and is working fine. I disconnected from dp34 and went directly into ultra. I'm new to vs, so I had a friend come over who has set up 20+ vs's, he claims it's not a clone. Checked for several things from loose fitting connectors, dull screws, extra screws, color of wires inside etc to determine if it was a clone.
Thanks guys...

Ok, lets trouble shoot here for a minute.
It sounds like a receiver problem but before we can claim that lets do a little test.
-Do a Factory Reset
-Load the Factory File V119
-Then load the BIN file 071226U (its an old file but we just want to test)
-Change your Antenna Settings
-Auto Scan

Let us know the result.

Yep tried that and still same result. Person I bought unit from said to send back and he would replace it with another, although he thinks it's a programming problem. I'm wondering if I should take him up on it?
