Issues with setup - Not sure what I did wrong
Hello,
I've been trying to setup my viewsat VS2000 Ultra (v2) for a month now to connect to BEV and I just can't seem to get it to work. The bird I'm connecting to is Echostar 8,10 110W. The system powers up and I get a signal strength of 82 and quality of 87. At first, I thought it was an issue with the bin files but now I'm starting to realise it must be on my side. I'm not sure what I forgot so I will explain everything I have done.
I installed the following files via USB by going to Menu, System Information, Receiver Upgrade --> USB:
Factory Update V119
Latest Bin File (PFTAUSW-080104U-1)
Latest key generated by VSKey.2.6 (keys are from 2008/01/07)
I then powered off the receiver for 10 seconds via the switch on the back then turned it back on.
Under Menu, Installation, Antenna setup, I have setup the following:
Satellite: Nimiq 1,3 91.0W
LNB Power------ON
LNB type-------OCS-DP
LNB Freq--------11250
22kHz-----------OFF
TP Freq---------12224
Diseqc 1.0------None
Motor-----------Off
Legacy SW------None
-Under Menu, User settings,option:
Closed caption------------Off
Beep---------------------Setting
Sort by SID---------------On
Auto TP------------------On
Auto Roll------------------On
Full channel name---------On
Bell-Vu channel mapping---On
Previous channel----------List
Under Menu, Installation, Auto Scan:
Search Option------------All
Network Search-----------On
Start Scan---------------Press OK
After the scan, I have the channels but they all come up as Scrambbled. I waited for the Auto-roll but after 20 minutes, I realise it's not working. I then tried turning the Autoroll off but I still have the same issue. I turned the autoroll back on. Can anybody tell me what I forgot? Thank you in advance.

Re: Issues with setup - Not sure what I did wrong
1st new bin is not PFTAUSW-080104U-1) it is 080108-1
2nd if you are on echostar 8.1 (110) then that is the bird you need to scan not nimiq1 (91)
LNB type should be standard
everything else you did should be ok.
Hope this helps
After you instal correct bin file then do at Factory Rest and and rescan the proper sat.

Re: Issues with setup - Not sure what I did wrong
Alright, I have loaded the 080108-1 bin file. I changed the bird to echostar 8.1 (110) and the LBN type to Standard. I also did another Auto scan. Unfortunately, I'm still having the same issue. On the main screen (before the menu screen) under the "Autoroll processing...", it's still marked Nimiq 1,3 91.0W. I verified the menu and it did keep the echostar bird. Should this be changed somewhere?

You might need to edit keys manually. Try the new ones and see.

Go to menu and do a factory reset first as you are going to duplicate the channels if you don't then rescan, the ultra will tell you what sat. you are on make sure you have the right sat first. It will come up on the screen when you try to find a chaanel.

Re: Issues with setup - Not sure what I did wrong
You say the bird you are connecting to is 110W. Are you moving your dish to aim it to 91W or are you trying to catch both birds?
What type of LNB do you have?
It might be an issue of dish alignment and not the BIN.

Re: Issues with setup - Not sure what I did wrong
I manually verified all the BEV keys and they are fine. I did a factory default, reconfigured the bird and still get a signal strength of 82 and quality of 87. Unfortunately, the channels still come up as being scrambled. the bird I'm trying to connect is 110W, not 91W. For some reason, I have the following under my auto-roll processing message: "Nimiq 1,3 91.0W". When I go to Antenna Setup, i see the same message in the box beside "Antenna Setup", although "Echostar 8,10 110.0W" is clearly selected beside satellite. Thanks guys

Re: Issues with setup - Not sure what I did wrong
That means that your dish is aligned to 91W, you need to move your dish about 10 degrees to your right (depending on your location)
Is best to use a satellite calculator --> SatLex Digital :: Technology :: Calculators :: AZ/EL Calculator and a compass to make sure your dish is aimed correctly.
