Use Local Antenna

Have a Viewsat Ultra 2000. I want to connect a local antenna to the local loop. Once connected must I power off the Viewsat to use the antenna instead of the dish???????

Yes.it's the only way and I never did see what the point was.May as well just plug cable into TV.

I found if you power ultra off then regular amtenna will go through, Ultra acts like a a-b switch. If you do not want that then you should put in a a-b switch to change from fta to reg tv. Hope this helps you out.

try auto scanning the channels again.i had the same problem and thats what i did and everything good
