No signal or quality after running fix and installing factory bin.

Hello everyone, this is my first post and I am really stuck so I am helping you can help.

We recently loaded the January 8th Bin and prompty had our box freeze. When we turned it off and on again, we had the "----" display, so we had to use the null cable to load the fix and then installed the new bin again.

Now we are displaying "noCH" and cannot lock on our satellite to autoscan the channels. Our signal and quality is fluctuating all over the place with no steady signal. We are trying to lock onto Nimiq 1,3 which is what we were on before this mess started. So I downloaded the original factory file onto my USB and tried two or three times installing that and then the new BIN. We can't seem to get any channels to load using either auto scan or blind scan. Can anyone help?

you will need to post you setup details for better help. lnb type, switch, receiver settings. then we will have a better idea on how to help.

I think this is the setting information you need. I could be wrong though:

LNB Standard
LNB Frequency 11250
TP 12224
Motor NO
Legacy SW No

When I search the DISEqC it says fail.

type of lnb single or twin, and is it d!$h or DTV. also the sats are going down at this time.

Hi guys I have the same problem as halifaxgirl it says " noCH " all the time and I cant locate the sat either... I use LNB 2 singles those that Radio*Shack sells . and a Dish 500 my box is not a clone Its legit but no signal at all... what fix should I use? I face North East I live in Miami and my Zip Code is 33181.. if anyone can't get me out of this i will appreciate it thxx alot.

Its a single lnb and we have a d-sh (B3V).

Well guess I'm not missing much if the sats are down. At least I can still get the same three channels of free cable I was always getting. :S

Do you have more than one lnb? If you do can you tell us at what sats are you pointing?

I pointed EchoStar 8 ,10 with the exact coords that a guy from the forum gave me but I put a different pgm file and a SAT file to the receiver and now I dont have the LIST for sattelites its showing ╤■(é {‼O○┌║: crazy letters like that where you choose your satelitte and then when you click that option the receiver makes a reboot. how can I fix this?

Just one lnb, pointing at Nimiq 1,3 91 (B3V).

Well for starters - there's an ecm on right now, so no Bev - but when it gets up and running try connecting directly to the receiver from your satellite cable - I had a problem the other day and I took the lnb off all together and surprise, surprise it worked great - so watch here for updates and try that and see what happens we are on Nimiq 1 and had no problem until the bin went down Hope this helps

We got it working, unplugged the lnb and did direct satellite connection and voila - all is working again (except for the fact that B3V is down). Thanks for the help!
