Star Choice Questions/ Viewsat Ultra
A good friend of mine has a complete Star Choice system that he pays monthly on and wants to change his receiver to a Viewsat Ultra. My questions would be this: 1) Is the Star Choice dish, LNB's compatible to the Ultra or would he need to make any changes? 2) I'm assuming that Star Chice points at 110 and 119 birds but I'm not sure? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Star Choice Questions/ Viewsat Ultra
The lnbs are definitely not compatible, there is a chance that the dish itself might be it just depends on which dish it is. sc points at 97 I think. Best to get an elliptical dish and get 3 sats at once.

Re: Star Choice Questions/ Viewsat Ultra
Yes you can use the SC dish for FTA, however you might need to chage the LNB if you want to tap into circular sats. The SC quad LNB I believe its linear.

I've got a couple of Ariza GK532-30 LNB's (standard) would those do the trick? And what would be the antenna setup for the Ultra?

Re: Star Choice Questions/ Viewsat Ultra
Yeah you can use the GK532-30 LNB. Set the LNB type to Standard.
If you are planing on aming to 110/119 use the regular settings.

I'm actually thinking about pointing him to B3V so that when he upgrades to hidef he can get a 9000 and not have to worry about a mod upgrade but that will be his call. If I use a B3V dish that I have kicking around should I change those LNB's for the Ultra or are the B3V LNB's compatable?

Re: Star Choice Questions/ Viewsat Ultra
Stbs are compatible with almost all lnbs its the sat you want that makes the differnce. Bev and most of dn use the same lnb types. So bev lnbs are fine.

Re: Star Choice Questions/ Viewsat Ultra
I recently purchased Cheita 4 way DisEqC (WSD-3044) and when I am trying to use the satellite 61.5 and 110 using Ariza Dual DSS LNB (GK532-30) on my viewsat ultra reciever, I am only able to catch 110 W. Is there any special setting for this switch and would it work if I have 61.5, 110 & 119 to the switch and the O/P to the View sat reciever. Any documentation would be greatly appreiciated.
Awaiting your favourable response.
Thanks and regards,
Prashant

Hi Guys,
Finally I was able to resolve the issue. It seems that Ariza DSS Dual LNB (GK532-30) is a legacy twin LNB. So make sure under LNB type you select Legacy twin LNB 1 for the first reciever and Legacy twin LNB for the other reciever. Now I am able to set all 3 settelites using 2 4X1 DisEqc switches with two recievers Viewsat extreme and pansat 2500A.
Thanks
