epg question

i'm in canada testing a vs ultra on veb
my epg mostly says "no information" i've been reading what i can find and i see alot of ppl saying to sit on certain channels to repopulate i noticed that they all mention 3 digit numbers ie: 200 or 239 ect ...
my reciever has all four digit numbers like 2212 2214 ect...
and none seem to ever repopulate for me.
i even tried to download the epg in the menu
is there any certain settings i'm either not doing right or not at all?

Tune to channel 2410 for a few minutes to populate the EPG.

Your Menu settings should read as follow...
EPG Lenght: 2 Hrs
Guide Lines: 7
Reservation: OFF
EPG TP: E: Default N: Default
Stadby EPG: OFF

Also make sure that...
Local Cahnnels: ON
Local Channel Region: (your city)
Bell-VU Channel Map: ON

thank you for your help i reset my epg to default and turned the other thing off.
i'll try that for awhile.
as for the city thing i can't find that area

It should be under the Option menu.

i found the section you mentioned in the option section but unfortunatly my area isn't listed.only american cities are listed not canadian.and i live in nova scotia canada.
but i turned on the local thingy and everything else you said.

as you probably noticed i'm a real newbie at this.actually i probably make newbies feel good about themselves.
