Question on Loading new BIN with USB

I want to be sure I do this right but I see two ways posted to load my Ultra from a USB Stick?
1. Says to load, first change the file name to: PFTAUSWR.PGM then load the new file to my Stick and power off my Ultra insert the stick and power up the unit and it will load the BIN and reboot.
2. Says to follow the "Receiver Software Upgrade" Instructions with the unit and insert the stick go to the " System Information" page with the remote select "Software Upgrade" find the firmware and press OK and when the file is transferd the reciver will reboot.

Sounds like they will both work, but I don't want to mess up my Ultra!

why change file name.just turn reciever off backswitch,put stick in,turn reciever on,it will say inisilizating usb,then go to system info,reciever upgrage,usb,scroll to file,push ok,IMPORTANT let reciever completely reboot wait till picture comes on before taking usb out,and dont play with remote while file is downloading,turning reciever off during this will kill it.

Changing the file name is a new method for loading the FACTORY file via usb when you have troubles, no need to change the bin file name.

So it Sounds like they will both work! Right?

I'm not sure which directions you're following so I don't feel right telling you they will both work. Just download the bin to your computer, then unzip or extract it and then copy the .pgm file to your usb then turn off the stb insert the usb and follow the menu system to upgrade the stb.
