view sat ultra help?
Hi guys i just purchased a view sat ultra and i uploaded the program into the unit but all it says is that its searching for a signal, and my signal bar shows 60....has anyone ever had this problem...please help?

your signal level should be higher than 60 just do a hard reboot leave on channel 200 for a couple of minutes picture should come on see if you can get the signal better look at your quality.

whats a hard reboot, if my dish wasn't aligned properly would my dish still show a signal and say seraching for signal? how do i align it properly? thanks

yep it would show signal no quality thats what you want is quality a hard reboot is the switch in back of the ultra turn off then back on there are certain programs in utality that should look at

a hard reboot is turning off the power with the rear switch for a few mins and turning it back on.
yes, if your dish is off even the slightest bit out of adjustment you will have some signal and no quality and you wont get a picture.

i just did the hard reboot and its showing 68 signal 0 quality and still says searching signal...i didnt align my dish, how would i do that...? btw i tried using the same receiver with the program in my friends house about 1 hour ago and it worked(he had the same system) so i guess it has to be my alignment?

go to a dish pointing web site and put in your location and it will give you elevation. and magnetic direction

don't think you need to worry about polarization. What kind of a dish and lnb are you using?

the lnb is the round thing at the end of the arm of the dish. I think you will be ok with it did you find a web site for getting elevation? etc

did you read the manual? DO NOT HOOK UP ANYTHING WITH THE RECEIVER ON That means both the front and back switch off

yes im only using one dish, i used dishpointer.com my elevation is 45.2 and mag is 228.7*..i hooked everything up first and then i turned it on...i just got the unit used, i dont have a manual, and my friend helped me with programming it. the sat im trying to get is the echostar 8,10 110.0w or any echostar

If you are hooking to one sat only you do not need disque. Just hook to receiver direct with power off change settings. What city are you in and I will check for your elevation and compass heading?
