What program do I need to load on my usb

Newbie.. I have been reading alot and I am still uncertain of what I have to load onto my usb then upload onto my reciever. I have a viewsat ultra.. brand new. I also would like to know if I can use a external hardrive with a usb port insted of an actual usb card? Thanks again

New files are needed after an ecm we can not determine when and how often but viewsat has very good support and are amongst the first to have new bins avail. Which viewsat ultra do you have? If your speaking of can you load a new file from your computer, then yes via a null modem cable and a viewsat loader program.

you cannot use a USB HD as it won't recognize anything over 2GB, so your USB stick must be less then 2GB, the smaller the better as files are small.
U will need to unzip the bin and copy to your USB stick. then transfer to STB and follow instruction on upgrading your STB with new bin.

Thanks for all the support. I did not recieve my reciever in the mail as of yet so I am not sure of the exact model. I am finally getting a grasp on all the sat jargin. Well when the package arrives in the mail, I'll follow the latest directions after reading the insruction manual. Thanks again
