8x1 on Viewsat Ultra
Can somebody tell me how to setup my viewsat ultra with 8 lnbs?

I think you can use 2 DisEqc and 1 22khz tone.

Use two diseqc switch 4X1 then with the 1 22khz tone.

can be done that way.....or with one 4x1 diseqc and four 22khz switches
or you can use one 8x1 diseqc

if she supports diseqc 1.1 you can use a cheap 8x1 diseqc.
if it doesn't,you can use an emp 8x1 and set it up as a motor.(GOTO)

You'll need one of these and the hook up,hope you got a lot of time on your hands.

8 sats, 4 STBs using 4 Zinwell 4x4 SW & 4 diSEqC SW.

Using 2 disecqs and one 22Khz switch has been proven to be very hard depending on the LNBs and the receivers. What I have found is that the 22Khz switches need to be between the disecq switch and the lnbs for everything to switch without glitches.
So I would recommend 4 22Khz switches (they are not that expensive) and one disecq switch.
Just make sure that the receiver is off whenver you are adding and removing switches.
This type of setup with 22Khz and disecq switches will work with one receiver only. If you want multiple receivers, then you will need DP44 switches to do this.
