Testing
I posted my problem here a couple of days ago. I have a Viewsat Ultra 2000, and I am having trouble getting all the channels on echo 7. My settings seem right, but I simply can't get all the channels on echo 7. After doing an autoscan, and blind scan I get about half the channels. Now, when I go to channel scan I can see the channels I have on each frequency. Some frequencies have good signal and quality, other frequencies have good signal but no quality. I know if there is no quality the channels are not going to be seen.
So, my question is, if I go to autoscan, and highlight these frequencies that have signal, but no quality, can I go outside and fine tune my dish till I see quality on these frequencies? Is that the way to get these channels on these frequencies to work?

Re: Testing
most people use 12239 to fine tune 119 with....
go into antenna settings for 119 and select 12239....you should have an absolute minimum of 75Q....if not, go and fine tune your dish

Re: Testing
OK, here are my antenna settings
I use OCS-DP ant.
Sat= Echostar 7
LNB= ON
LNB Type= 11250
22Khz= OFF
TP Frequency=12224 (I CHANGE TO 12239)
DISEQC= Port 1
Motor= Off
Legacy SW= OFF
I use the same setting for echostar 8,10, only difference is that I leave the TP frequency on 12224, and I change the DISEQC to Port 2.
After doiing this I autoscan. No problem on echo 8,10, but echo 7 barely gives me any channels. I then do a blind scan, and I get several more channels from echo 7, but I still miss several channels on some frequencies.

Re: Testing
How is your Q for each sat?
Are using a DisEqc or any other switch?
you are sure about your lnb type?
Should try another one.
Because your settings seems to me alright.

Re: Testing
My Q on echo 8,10 is around 90.
My Q on echo 7 on 12224 TP frequency is around 80-90. But when I switch TP frequency to 12239 it skitters a little and settles around the 75 mark.
I don't use a switch.
LNB type is on 11250, and I thought that is the only type it should be on.

We need to know all that.
And you need to be at TP12239 to be on 119.
Make sure it shows up at the top right hand corner(echo7[119w])

Re: Testing
you might try changing your LNB type to standard & rescan . & for changing tp freq. I have same problem on one of my Ultras & ever time I change the tp 12224 to tp 12239 & exit to scan it defaults back to 12224 . Sorry about the hijack but thought is about same subject . Cheers

Re: Testing
Ok, I use OSC-DP satellite. And I do change the TP frequencyon echo 7 from 12224 to 12239. When I change the tp frequency, the quality goes from the 90's to the 70's. But I think that even though I change the tp frequency, it reverts back to 12224. Is this normal?
When I change frequencies on echo 7, from 12224 to 12239, I see the quality go from the upper 90's on the 12224, to a slight skittering, and settling on a quality of 75 on 12239.
Any info would be appreciated. And thanks for the previous info as well.

Re: Testing
Well, off hand I remember missing all the STARZ channels, and most ppv's. Now if I remember correctly I think these channels fell under frequency 12414. There were some twenty odd channels in that frequency. The signal was 75, but no quality, I checked a few other frequency and it was the same.
And yeah, I only change the tp frequency on echostar 7. I leave echostar 8, and 10 at 12224.
I am not familiar with the spot beam coverage area.

Re: Testing
You need Q on the TP's to get the channels.
You are probably at the wrong sat.
Are using a DISH500?

I am not home right now, and I don't remember if I use DISH 500. But what do you mean I am on the wrong sat? And what would I need to do to get on the right one?
