Talking Unable to load bin to SV1000 PVR

I 've been using my usb stick on reciever to load bins now it doesn't seem to recognise the stick anymore ,so I tried a different stick and same problem it seems that the usb port doesn't work,is there a way to make it recognise the usb stick.

Re: Unable to load bin to SV1000 PVR

Try to reformat the USB stick first. In Explorer, find the USB drive and right click it and click Format. Stick should be formatted FAT32. It is best to format the stick before every file is loaded to it. And be sure you unzip the file on your hard drive, and then put it on the stick. Always use Safe Remove from the Tray Icon (Tool Bar, Lower Right) to avoid data corruption.

Another tip... When you put the USB drive in, the light might still be ON and B-L-I-N-K-I-N-G on the stick. That means there is like a surge circuit on the stick (a good thing). Simply slide the stick out and immediately slide it right back in. Now it should work okay.

Hope This Helps!!

Re: Unable to load bin to SV1000 PVR

I've down all that but it still won't recognise that a stick is inserted wonder if receiver has problem with power supply internally or if there is a glitch in receiver programming if I do a factory reset won't change usb function just clear channel and sat info and user functions. Is there a way to force receiver to boot off usb stick?

Get a copy of the Loader for your unit in the download section, then load the Factory bin file to your receiver via serial cable.

Re: Unable to load bin to SV1000 PVR

The same yet not..

I have or had a problem not unlike what you are talking about though it may be a tad different.

I was experiencing errattic times with my PVR1000 and was told or heard someplace that one way to fix such a situation was to reflash the factory bin onto the unit then replace that one with the more current 'bin'. Oh let the good times role.

Upon completing the flash of the 'factory bin' I found that I no longer had available the USB routnie and thus was now unable to flash anything back onto this might as well be dead PVR1000. I set out to find a fix. I posted message after message on forum after forum. I was bombed with every way to fix my problem. After trying each and everyone of them to no avail, I discovered only one resolution and that was to go dirrectly to Sonicview's technical department for assistace.

Now, the good times rolled over me. After numberous attempts to contact Sonicview I gave into the fact as *****en ((can I say that?)(edit if you must)) a unit as the Sonicview is, the company must have gone belly up because all my attempts to contact then ended up shortfall.

My last attempt was a phone call to the technical department just before Christmas. All of my other communications had been email. I finally made conntact with the tech department.. Yes the comany is having problems finding good people to fill their technical pssitions, oh well . Come to find out that I/we are not the only ones having this problem with the PVR1000. The technician told me that after receiving my email he took one of the units they had there and found he couldn't get any of these fixes to work either. I am presntly in negotiations for a replacement. Warranty is two years, hassle free from time of purchase. Hope this helps and not too many of you fell asleep from boredom.
