Updating Sonicview 1000 PVR

Very new at this. Can this unit be updated from a USB port like the Sonicview 4000?

Thanks for taking time to introduce your self.
I have seen a USB port on some of these units but from my understanding the only way to upgrade the sofware(BIN) is thru a serial cable.

Sv1000pvr updates with usb from back of receiver you don't need to update with cable mine works great.
Testing sv8000hd,sv4000,sv1000pvr,neosat ipro2k,nfusion nova,viewsat ultra.

I have updated mine through the USB port in the back as well and works great

does anyone know how to fix a remote control on a sv 4000 its not working, its not the battery.
