Simply download bin file again to the receiver. Make sure the file you downloaded is unzipped. It comes as a zip file, which is a compressed file, and needs to be decompressed to a bin file, size 768K.

Also, be sure to use the most current loader to load this bin file to your receiver.

You may have to download a program called Winzip to decompress these files.

Most Knight Rider problems occur because the receiver is not done with the download. Make sure the receiver says 100% and is also done rebooting itself before doing anything else. Just because you think the transfer completed didn't mean it did. Also, wait until your computer says 100% and says done. It's like waiting these extra 15 seconds means you save a lot of monkeying around later.

That did it --- thanks. Is this new bin (275) missing any features? I cant seem to UN-parent lock my reciever or channel edit option. Unless I can unlock the channel edit --- I can not use any channel lists... any suggestions? I am using 2700a

Forgot your password? If 0000 doesn't work, which is the default, then you may simply do a factory reset. All a factory reset does is wipe out the channel list, and the accompanying password. Channels are easy to get back.

Be sure you write down the satellites DiSEqC #'s which is where each sat is hooked up to the switch, in the Antenna Setup before you do. Then, you can do a blind scan on each satellite to get channels back.

Unhappy

No -- I remember the password and how to change it.. the problem I am having with with uploading a channel list to the STB.... I tried to download FROM the STB (that works fine).... But when I rename etc the channels, and then try to apply them to the STB... nothing changes. I get a "times out error" on my channel master. I think it is because my "menu" or "channel edit" option is locked... and I dont see an option to unlock it.

Well, hook that receiver up and do a factory reset. All a factory reset does is essentially wipes out the channel list and other related information. Then, rewrite your channel list to the receiver. The new channel list download will also write the antenna setup, same password, etc. I hope you are not downloading the same channel list you just uploaded to your computer, which is problematic. A Factory reset does nothing to the bin file downloaded to your receiver.

If the problem persists, you may have experienced a bad bin file download, which may be a rare possibility. I am running 274 with the new keys and everything is fine. I haven't tried the new 275 bin as of yet.

I am sure you simply had a bad bin flash, which can do things to your channel information, and which you won't probably do again.

Patience is golden my friend!
