what is wrong with this box????
ok i have trying to get this unit to work right since i bought it about 2 months ago. i also have another unit that works great different brand. i use dish pro twin no switches or anything two lines running into the back of each box.
my problems are
1. when i do a sat scan it never finds all the channels
2. when i do a sat scan channels will show up on both birds DN
3. what it does find sometimes these channels have a great signal and quality then other times have none and then if i go to a different channel then turn back to the other it will come back strong
4. when i turn stations it also times time to come in says no signal then 10 to 50 seconds later it comes on that happens when it switches birds like from 7 to 8,10
tried
1. played with settings, factory reset, installed pansat bin then latest BL bin, looked at newbie guide 100 times
tried different sat tri pod to on house mount, moved box to the other location in the house where the other box was working.
no matter what i do i have the same problem
any idea's

make sure you got high signal and quality before you scan for channels

Re: what is wrong with this box????
That is part of the problem it will show good on the antenna setup screen then if i exit that setup screen and go back it may be bad, change to another tp and that will be strong. if fact it just did it.
it was sitting on channel 108 for like 15 mins no signal i switched to channel 109 then back to 108 and it works now and sig and str are both in the 80's now before it was like 30 and 0
also would not it be if the sig is strong enough to work the other box should it not work this box?

Re: what is wrong with this box????
Make a list of the channels that you appear to be having difficulty with, then go to LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite and look up which transponders they correspond to then scan those specific TP's with your unit.

Re: what is wrong with this box????
Your Auto TP then should be set to ON. This is what is probably causing problems. If you cannot see this setting, you may have changed it in a prior bin write, and it is no longer there for you to change back, and is OFF now.
Your first step is doing a factory reset. Do this three times. I would start out like real fresh, like write the factory bin file, and get a bin file from say August, and write that bin file to do your BLIND scans. Autoscans are not recommended for Pansats.
You should now do more factory resets. Do this three times after the above bin writes (Yes, three times again) After this, check your Auto TP setting, and change it to ON if it is off. Now I think you also could have either had a satellite setup when it shouldn't have, or you cross referenced some channels. Remember a factory reset only deletes your channels, your antenna settings and other user menu settings. A factory reset does NOT change your bin file write. Now put in your antenna settings fresh. You have them right, exit and Ok to Save. Exit one more time, and then do a BLIND scan for each of the Echo satellites. After that is done change your time zone and your local remapping if necessary.
Then write the latest bin file. This all sounds like a lot, but it is not, really. Should get everything working properly again. You also may have channels you never had before, like channel 455. I have seen many problems like this before solved by going back to an earlier bin file before doing scans.
Good Luck !!
