can't get antenna pointed zip 94546

I've done this twice before with a dave dish.

I'm trying to get bird Echo7 119.

-I've got an old huges single lnb dave dish (this has been on the roof for 3 years will this affect it's perforamance or do these go bad)?
-pansat 2500
-live in zip 94546
-my azimuth should be 174ish (which is almost exactly south) elevation 46
-my level is about 58% and no quality.
-no diseq
-tried other transponders

i see other dishnet antennas pointed in the same area. Please help me out.

Here's a good trick I learned from another site that helps me locate my 110W. I used Dave's receiver to help me locate 110w with little or no time at all. Dave and DN bird are prox close together. Go to dave receiver and set it to antena to the third option and then set to 119 on the transponder. After you have your 119w with dave's receiver...a minor adjustment to a degree or two then your elavation. Voila !!

do pansats have an audible indicators or just visual that let us know how close we are, it's a pain in the butt to stick my tv out the window. i found a tool that says i should be at 159 azimuth 46 elevation.

also, does my sat receive signals though tree branches or glass. my xm satellite does, so why can dishnet signals do the same.

your azimuth is way off.
it should at 159 +-2 degree

your elevation is correct, if your pole is straight.

tv sat signals cant go through tree branches....although ive seen through glass. tv sat signals have video info....xm dont....different technology. think of it like remote controls and cordless phones.... remote with (IR)infared needs a direct signal...while cordless is (RF) radio frequency can go through walls(branches)
