think i am not doing something right

I have been trying to flash my reciever all day i have an idea that my computer is not recognizing the reciever. I have the 8500 fix on my desktop but I can not find a way to upload to the reciever. I am a newbie please help. Oh yeah I did plug the PC to the reciever while it was turned off then I turned it on should my computer have said found new hardware or shown me that it was there?

The best way I found to download is to have the bin set to go in the updater. Turn the box on and at the first sign of activity in the pansat window, start the download. It is all in the timing.

My computer dosn't say "Hardware Found" or anything. After I hook it up I press "Download" and the numbers on the resciver start going up.

it is not giving me a download option and i dont get a pansat window, i dont think my computer is recognizing the pansat

allmost there but i get an error message, for STB I typed in pansat 2500A, the error message reads "error : model does not correct". What I need to know is what to type in for STB then what to type in for the bin file.

Use a uppercase P, in the downloads for pansat download the blacklist 236, or the 9-30-04 by ice for the 2500a. 9-30-04 works better.

now the only problem is that everytime i turn the reciever off it looses the program and i have to flash it again

after loading X-8500_041001_236_api(N).bin i do >installation>blind scan>scan, after that everything works great unless the power on the reciever is turned off. then when it is turned back on again it says no signal so i have to go thru the whole process again. the patch version is API:2.36c_EU Boot Ver:6.0 01 Oct. 2004
