Not receiving all channels on 110/119/91

Hi,

Have D$sh pro setup for 110/119/91, good quality on all LNBs, but do not receive all channels on all tps. Not spot beams, but E, USA, etc. I have tried scanning several times, used channel lists, but just a blank screen. Does this have anything to do with the physical skew and the receiver skew...

One post by dssman in sep regarding cartoon channel said E7/119 is tp16/freq 11943h but lyngsat says E7/119/tp16 is 12443h. Did freqs change?

Eqp:
D$sh pro LNBs and d$sh 500
Pansat 2500A with the latest fix

Thanks

Not getting quality signal on all tps

Does anyone know why I do not get a quality signal on all the tps. For example...E7/119/tp16/freq 12443H...Rec and LNB connection is 88% but quality is zero.

Please help!!!!

Question

I see you are using dishpro lnb. They need special freq on the horz. and then the horiz. gets changed to a vert. I am just wondering if you know about this?
It could be your problem.

Special freqs?

Thanks for the reply.

No...I am not aware of the special frequencies and the changes from H to V.

What does that mean? How do I setup the Pansat to do that?

Your help and advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Changing H to L

JPeterson,

You can add and edit TPs in TP edit menu under installation, I've tried all that. For instance, TP list displays 12000 H in the list but the channel is actually suppose to be on 12000 V (according to Lyngsat), TP Edit is the place where you can edit it, I've tried that but still did not help.

I've done all that, spent countless number of hours trying to figure that science but you may have some luck, try it out. I'm trying to actually figure the mystery why some frequencies don't respond that well especially when the signal strength for the specific bird is pretty good.

I've noticed a strange behavior, out of 10 scanning attempts I was able to get the channels I was interested in twice but not consistently and not on the same frequency as listed on Lyngsat. Hate to say this but I wonder if it is weather related, the two times I was lucky was when I had clear skies, all the other time it was pretty cloudy. Don't know if clouds had to do anything, shouldn't be but I'll try that out on a clear day just to rule that out.

Looks like, you and I have the same problem.

Goodluck

jpeterson- to change to a dishpro list the H tps will have to be eddited. The freq. # for a H tp will be changed to a new #. To do this you will have to take 25600 subtract your H tp value to get the new #. The H will have to then be changed to a V. Example 119 tp 4 # is 12268, MATH= 25600-12268 will leave 13332 as the new tp freq.. The H will then be changed to V. This will have to be done for all the H tps. That is if you are using a dishpro lnb.

alloos- Do not scan through the switch. If you connect straight to the lnb you will get a clean scan.

Smile D Pro LNBs freq

Mountaineer,

Thanks very much for the explanation. Will try it today and see if it will work.

Is it better to replace the pro LNBs with Dave LNBs?

Thanks

A pro lnb is just a little bit of a pain in the a$$. I use them and wouldn't change them just to make it easy. That would take the fun out of it.

Changed LNBs

I tried changing the H freqs using the math that mountaineer provided. My conversion also matched the list provided by dssguy. Still did not work.

Just to double check, I changed LNB to legacy LNB. That fixed the problem. Used mountaineer's suggestion and bypassed the switch and individually did a scan -- one LNB at a time -- and was able to pick up pretty much all the channels. Then I added the switch back in. Seems to work.

I still want to understand the frequency selection for the Pro LNBs, so I am going to go back to the Pro LNBs and try to edit the TPs again and figure this out.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys.

I just uploaded a program called channel master. It will convert and legacy channel list to a dishpro with a click of the mouse. It can also change a dishpro list into a legacy list. It is a very sweet program that will solve all the channel editing problems. Look for it in the channel list download section when the leader here posts it.

Thumbs up channel master

Thanks, mountaineer.

Will use it when it gets uploaded.

Any idea why I cannot receive Nimiq 3? I get all the channels from Nimiq 1 okay. I even pointed at Nimiq 2 and got all the channels. Puzzling!!!!

Any insight? Thanks!!

Mountaineer,

Is the ini file same as the bin file? I have the latest - Blacklist-X-85BL_041106_237_api(N) loaded.

If the ini file is different, I would appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks!!!

It's the satcodxurl file in gtools. If it got corrupted you could loose a sats freq. Did you do a blind scan ? That would get the freq. from the sat.
