Pansat 3500 setup questions

I have a few questions for setting up this 3500s do to the poor instructions or lack of detailed instructions;

1. How can you confirm your LNBF is actually working?
2. The SS inddicator, is there a difference between the one shown in the antenna setup/positioning menu and the one shown when you hit the 'SIG' button on the remote?
3. I'm getting various reading when I power the unit up. Usually it shows around 70% (whatever that is suppose to mean). But, I have seen it as low as 20% and as high as 99% with no signal.
4. I have had the receiver appear to lock up where it doesn't/can't move the motor when the scale shows 99%. I have to power it down (pwr switch on back of unit) to make it optional again. Other functions seem to work ok.
5. Since I haven't actually done a scan yet, every time I power the unit up I get what appears to be the first time menu screen. Language, Instalation etc. Can I assume that this is because I haven't actually found a satelitte yet? Really annoying.
6. I assume the correct LNB type would be standard with a Invacom Quad LNBF would be 'Standard'?

I have looked around and don't seem to see any answers to these questions. I haven't gotten off the boat yesterday, but these importers of these Chineese wonders seem to assume you know most of this.

Most of the above have been answered elsewhere, but #4
The motor (Stab 120) either doesn't move or keeps on moving as reported in the above.

Any ideas here?

Look videobruce.I didn't work with that motor,but I,m trying to figure out what happens.When the motor stuck, usually it is so tighten that it can’t move, I mean that the motor at the back side should be tight to your pole, but not so. The pole has to be completely vertical as well, if it doesn’t, the motor won’t work great. Also you have to check that in your settings’ receiver, it doesn’t have east or west limit position, The limits should be disable in order to the motor moves until the end of scale.
About the first menu, yes you are right, if you didn,t scan any sat,it wont't show any tps or channel.You have to scan at least one sat, or download a channel list, then the receiver shows the first channel or the channel you were watching the last time before turning off.
The LNB settings,if you want to set it in order to get 110 or 119, yes it should be set "Standard", the T5 for expl"Universal 1", Hispasat "Universal 2" it depends on the frecuency you are looking for.

The motor doesn't physically stick (bind) it's the receiver that isn't responding or sending out commands to move or stop moving the motor. Of course the motor might not be receiving the command or screwing up the command also. No way of testing w/o another motor.

To explain a little further;
If I hold the 'movement' button either the motor keeps going (moving) when I release the button, or later it doesn't move at all. I have to reset the receiver for it to work again. The level scale will go to 99% (sometimes) when this happens.

It surely seems to be the receiver as that scale (which seems to be useless) will drop to 20% as no LNB is connected.

I tried to update the f/w, but with a serial connection I couldn't do it. I get a 'not responding' in Device Manager. I really don't want to buy a SD card just to flash this thing. (another issue).
