2700A new - dowload fail - ABA DSS

Just got one 2700A new in the original box. Connected with 6' Null Modem Cable run the GTLoader program. To be on the safe side decided to start with uploading - comp shows 1% then the 2700 reboots shows some random chars and then "update fail" message pops up ( sometimes at 5% sometimes at 17% once at 23%). If I try to download 2700 reboots after 2-3 seconds with the "ON" on display and thats it

Any idea what could be a problem?
PS COM1 works fine with the straight RS232 to 2500A clone.

What o/s are you running on the computer ?

Are u using the 3.35 loader?.Let me tell you,I've installed the new bin in around 45 boxes(2700) using my PC(w xp-pro), and just one time I noticed a similar problem.I had some bad experiences with fortecs,then I had to use a USB to serial cable to do the flash, and it worked.Anyway if I were you I would checked the null cable,then downloaded the STB loader again, and tried.

Here is the end of the story. I've checked pinout of the Null Modem it looked OK. Anyway I've made the 4" DB9 M2F Null Modem using CAT5E ( http://members.aol.com/pasacaca/db9pin/db9null.htm ) attached it to the working 3' streight DB9 F2F cabel and it worked like a charm. Looks like the included Null Modem cable was to long or who knows what.

PS Enother interesting detail. On the 2700A all the chanels what were pixelated on the 2500A clone are working fine eventhough the freqs are still 12MHZ more when the formula (25600 - H) surgests for H to V transformation for 500 pro. Go figure!
