New download

I am trying to download the 118 bin onto my new 2700A (only used 2500A before). I am using GTRom loader 3.35 and following all the directions correctly. When i click on download to install the bin, i am getting the "flash update fail" message. Is the RS232 cable the same one that i use for my 2500A? If so, where am i going wrong? The 2700A is on and states "ON" on the display. Do i need to install factory bin first? If so, can someone send me the file, i cant find it. Any other suggestions.

The 2700A takes a null modem cable not the stright thrue as the 2500A. Wrong cable.

As Bogus said ,the 2700 uses the null cable.

Can i pick up one of these cables at radio shack? Do i ask for a null cable/ how do i tell the difference from the one im using for the 2500A? I see the thumb nail picture, but im assuming that there is actually cord between the 2 ends?!?!?

Go to Radio Shack and get a 9 pin female to female null modem cable.

In order to use it with the box, it should be Null Modem Adapter Female DB9 to Male DB9,b'cause the box has a male input, and the straight cable ends with female one.

Ok maybe I got mixed up a little. Both ends of the cable are female.
