Semi "Dead" 3500S Pansat..............
My new Pansat 3500S Receiver is frozen (so-to-speak), it does not recognize its own remote control (yes, batteries within the Remote Control are Okay) - nor does it work at all. It will not accept any software bins; including it own Pansat Original Factory software. The front Panel Display – still shows its display….so it’s not totally dead. This all started after I loaded my new Pansat 3500S with the latest “****** Software” version “X-05BL_050927_118eubx_12H_api”. Sounds like it may need “JTagging”….but since this is a new box with very little information about the “inner workings-of-it’, at the present time there lacks information regarding repairing procedures for this receiver. Is there a “trick” to kicking it back to life to accept software without “JTagging”? If anyone can assist….please provide detailed step-by-step information or post a “valid link” here for more information. Thanks!!!!!!

You can access to the main menu with the control? Did you press the STB knob before?

It works again..........................
Problem resolved!!!!! Problem Fixed!!!!!!
I figured the problem out myself, error on my part……I was using the wrong STB Loader…..I was using the Pansat 2700A STB Loader instead of the Pansat 3500S Loader….plus in addition I think that my RS232 cable connections were not tight either. I thought and I could of sweared that I re-downloaded the correct STB Loader form the Pansat web site…..but I guess I didn’t.
Anyway, thanks for everyone’s help.

The user friendly part??
I only had experiance with one other receiver, an Arzia (sp?) and even without any kind on manual I found that far easier to use that this 3500 with the poorly written manual.
There are so many errors and omissions, it would take another manual to cover all of them.
To top it off, when someone from the importer tells you "you have to hire a professional installer" and "these are meant for professional installers" just because of the lack of proper setup instructions regarding the starting point for aiming the dish, that surely doesn't make them "user friendly".
Maybe compared to some others, since I'm sure there are worst (trouble imaging that), and I';m also sure if you have had experiance 2 or 3 other receivers, that most could/may be figured out, but most are first time buyers way too much is taken for granted.
I'm not talking about be "spoon feed" either.

I telling you that I saw more that once setting up the pansat 3500 by people that never had a dig receiver before, and it took 10 min using the SD card, just knowing the right files to download.

You don't need any keys, just download the latest bin.
