3500s front panel Pwr button issue

I never used the power button on the front panel, but when I did it eitherstarted to cycle on and off or switched from on to off and back to on and vice a versa.
The command from the remote is ok. It seems that the 'right touch' is needed. Too long or too short a 'push' causes the problem. A 'normal' push of the button doesn't work.

Anyone else see this?

I have 2 units and both mine are the same as yours
I am lazy and use the remote now

The front panel power button causes the unit to go balistic?
