how come I can not write the bin file to my receiver,it keep saying 0% progress?

I can not write the binfile to my receiver,my lap top dees not have com1 so I have to convert using the gender changer from parallel port to serail and connect the cable to the receiver,but when i hit write then it keep saying 0% progress forever,so any one know please help.

is your receiver a clone or a genuine pansat. make sure your using the right bin. at this time the 2500 has 2 separate bins for bev & dishnetwork due to lack of memory capacity. you have to use or or the other.

I have updated the firm ware to current rev,but when I downloaded the channel from dish network,and most of the channel show with $ and I can not view them,so what extra step do I have to do to be able to view the channels that I have downloaded to the receiver?

You need the latest bin file and to make sure your autoroll is turned ON in prenatal code section of your menu.

I need some help too and I am new to this area.

I uses to be able to download bins to the computer easily, now I am switching to a lap top, could any body tell me what kind of a adapter I need to continue my testing? Thanks
