Before Downloading New Chnl.list

On a pansat 2500A - Can somebody please clear this up for me and others - I've read that you DO NOT have to clear or delete your current channel list before downloading a new one to your reciever, you can download right over your current one , but yet other posts say you DO HAVE TO delete your curent channel list before downloading a new one - I'm confused which is it??? Thanks to anyone who can help and clear this up.

you do not "have to" delete the current list, it is for the longetivity of your receiver mem chip. you could just write over it without erasing but that will "sometime" even though not that often burn out your chip. i recommend that you reset it before loading a new one it only take you a couple minute, better be safe then sorry.
