Update on 9200 blue background
The new 9241 bin recently released for the Panny 9200HD was a pleasent surprise. This bin once loaded provided for the proper reception as expected on both sat networks. Not sure why this bin did not introduce some of the problems we have experienced with past bins, but I like it. I would really appreciate a coder or smart person looking at this bin and deciding how it differs from past bins. The problem may be found in "common information" that is included in all bins for this model receiver. My thanks to BL for this bin that allows me to enjoy at least one of the features advertised for this receiver.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: Have been e-mailing Pansat-usa Customer Support (CS) at various times to request status updates on the Pansat 9200HD advertised features. Included below is the latest response from CS.
"Dear customer,
At this moment there isn't ANY free programming available in 8PSK. Once there is free programming available, we will in turn provide the module. In regards to the firmware for the pvr, it will be a few more months before it is available. We want to make sure the firmware works correctly before providing it to our customers.
Not sure about the free programing answer, since I did not ask about any "free programing", but as you can tell, they are working deligently on the "PVR" capabilities for our receivers. (LOL)

ok so you got me curious.
first off.what is it you see about the blue background that has changed?
i still see that bright dang thing when changing channels.
whats the pleasant surprise?
"The problem may be found in "common information" that is included in all bins for this model receiver."
what problem are you talking about? and what "common info" ?
"My thanks to BL for this bin that allows me to enjoy at least one of the features advertised for this receiver."
ok,do tell.what feature has been added?

like what? you do know they only sell these as legal FTA (free to air) for non encrypted programming.
it would be against the law for them to discus anything 3rd party with you.

Re: Update on 9200 blue background
Ok aboristman, here goes. Various bins work for dn only, while I only get a blue screen on bev and great sound. The latest bin 9241 worked for both networks no problem. When I spoke about "common info in a bin, I was speaking about info that I would think is common to every Panny bin, not updates or revisions to a bin. Not being a coder, I thought it was an educated guess. The features that I was allowed to enjoy with 9241, was a great picture and sound on both nets. As to my emails to Pansat-usa, I have not asked their progress on anything other than what was advertised as a feature of the Pansat 9200HD, you know esata capable, pvr, yada yada. I don't think it should be toooo much of a problem for them to provide what I paid for!!!. Final note, I would not ask for any third party software support. "That is what I rely on you guys for" LOL

Re: Update on 9200 blue background
oh ok i see what you mean.yeah well,i think they have many more things to get right and add before even considering pvr.but that may be just me.
if you look at the past pvr models its pretty clear pansat is really bad at supporting pvr.
i wouldn't hold your breath.

Re: Update on 9200 blue background
ALCON, had I known that Pansat was less supportive than other venders and more inclined to misrepresent their products, I would not have bought one. I solicited comments on this site, did a feature comparison with other receivers and the Panny looked like the best bang for the buck. I would not recommend it to a friend at this time. (Stated in previous email to Pansat CS)
Reverting back......."The Blue Screen" I am still confident that some one will come up with a solution, maybe me. I have started to dabble with ARM Emulators, wish there was more information available on this site for those of us wishing to dabble and so that I was not starting from scratch. Maybe the idea could be tossed around. I myself am prepared to proceed at my own risk.
