Heat is a must with any electronic device that is pluged to electricity, A temperature prove will only help you to determine weather your unit is overheating and how high the temperature reaches thats it. Sorry to say this Abortisman, but not everyone is perfect, in this human world there is not such a thing as perfect, only God and thats is if you believe in God. The receiver could have been made by some dude in the factory that party the night before and was tired a the pansat plant in Korea therefore he didnt pay attention to his work and missed or skipped all final test before they get shipped out to the USA and thats why the unit does'nt operate properly. So thats why the receiver will be shipped to the makers to see what happen to it. All propper files has been loaded to it so I'm sure they can look into that and see it was'nt the end user fault. I know sometimes we post boring threads

I dont really know what's normal, I live in canada. Last week my computer shut off because the CPU too hot., their is safety on some board that shut down the computer. I open the computer, clean from dust and that's solve the problem. By what I know, In FTA boxes there no safety to stop the boxes, it why there blown. Pansat dont care if you blow your box. I will fix a digital temp. probe to know the temp. inside the boxes and in a few month I will know the range I have in the boxe, if I have problem, I will know why and try to stop before to blow the boxe.

Your not a true FTA tester unless you blow up a few boxes so I say go ahead and blow it up. I have destroyed a few myself and very proud of it.

box high temperature
It happened to me and after months with the Pansat 2700 finally last week I found that I never removed the plastic cover that comes with the box. Better say I removed the front but never the top, after doing that my box runs at normal temperature.
