How to Power a DP34 Switch

eqqmc2 suggested that a HR PI-20, 20v DC Power Inserter, 15 to 2150 MHz, High Return Loss, including a 20 Vdc, 600 mA wall transformer, be used as a power supply for a DP34 switch, when there is no DN or B3V DP receiver available to power the switch on Port 1.

Final testing which made the above power supply work was by Ernesteugene as follows:

Modified C/P of his original posts:

The diagram shows how to connect and get DiSEqC commands through to the DP34.

The splitter is a generic labelled, "SSP-2 950-2150 MHx 2 Way All Ports Power Passive".

The diplexer, generic as well. Labelled "SCS-6 40-2150 MHz"

Tech and engineering at Sonora put Ernesteugene onto pairing two Splitters or Diplexers.

Ernesteugene tried two spliters with no effect. Ernesteugene then tried the configuration below. He got the desired results and stopped there. (didn't feel a need to try pairing the diplexers)

Ernesteugene didn't inquire about the HR PIB while speaking with Sonora, though the tech rep did tell him that a Power Inserter capable of passing DiSEqC commands is in development at Sonora.

This cost him less than a DishPro Power Adapter did, through Ebay. It works, were as, the DP Power Adapter, on it's own, didn't work for him
