Help :( - Getting closer, but still no dice...
I just got a neusat 6000p.
I put the latest bin on there. I'm running 6037pre. I put the latest codes in there for DSH and BEV.
I aimed my dish at, what I think, is the right location. I can pick up all of these satellites at about 80%.
* Echostar 1,2
* Echostar 7
* Echostar 8,10
* Nimiq 1,3
When I do a channel search, I get about 600 channels showing up. They all say scrambled though, except for about 20 dsh preview channels (Some of which are on Nimiq, which I didnt think was dsh stuff, but anyway...)
When I try to sort the channels, under provider it says "Unknown". Do I have to somehow tell my receiver that these channels belong to dsh? Under CAS it says Nagravision, which is correct, I think.
Am I even aiming my dish in the right place? What have I done wrong? How can I fix this?
Any help is appreciated!

Re: Help :( - Getting closer, but still no dice...
whats your dish type and what are you aiming at.
if your getting bev channels and aiming at dn your just a bit off pointing wise.
you cant get dish open channels that are on nimiq. your prob in the middle of both birds and getting some signal from both maybe.

Re: Help :( - Getting closer, but still no dice...
Im using a DIRECTV 18" DISH W/DUAL LNBF
The problem isnt that Im not getting channels. I can see all of them. They're just not unscrambling. Its like the unit doesnt know who the channels are... It lists them under "Unknown" for the provider.

Re: Help :( - Getting closer, but still no dice...
if you only have 18" DTV dish with one dual LNB then you are gonna get only one bird.
Remember the rule one LNB one bird.
Now if you are pulling in BEV channels then you are aimed at either 82W or 91W.

Can you elaborate? I don't know what I'm doing... I have no idea what you want.

Re: Help :( - Getting closer, but still no dice...
You are pointing at Nimiq 1.3(91W). On your antenna setup page you should have these settings...
LNB Power-On
LNB Frequency-11250
LNB Type- Standard
TP Frequency- 12224
Diseq1.0- none
Motor- None or Disabled
With these settings, locate Nimiq 1.3(91W), scan your channels. I assume your newest bin file is loaded.
Now, the bad news, you won't catch anything because we are down

Ok. Lets say I wanted DSH. (I just want to see if this thing even works)
What settings and where should I point?

Re: Help :( - Getting closer, but still no dice...
if you want b3v and you don't have a hd unit then you want nimiq1,3. under installation menu, along with all your settings(tp,22 on off etc...) there will be a bar with a percent number underneath it at the top of this screen. select nimiq 1,3 and when the dish is dialed onto that sat you will see a yellow bar in that bar. this is how it works on my 6000reg and i believe the pre is the same. this will have to be if you want to go further.

Re: Help :( - Getting closer, but still no dice...
I've been on that screen and looked at every bird. I have 4 that show 80% signal. They are below:
* Echostar 1,2
* Echostar 7
* Echostar 8,10
* Nimiq 1,3
I can get channel lists from them, but I can't decode the channels. When I click "Sat" on my remote to sort what channels I see (either fta or pay, from which bird, etc) .. for "Provider" the only choice is "Unknown" -- Shouldnt it say B3ll or d1sh? I think this is where the problem lies?
Anyone with me on this?

Re: Help :( - Getting closer, but still no dice...
something is wrong you CANNOT be picking up 4 sat's with a 18" dish with 1 lnb. are you getting the yellow bar on all 4 of them when you scroll thru then in the installation screen.

Re: Help :( - Getting closer, but still no dice...
I dont doubt you there.. User error
Im able to scan all 4 of those... separately.. and it gives me a channel listing from them.
The only channels I'm able to watch (since my codes dont work) are d1sh freebies.
I just kind of guessed at the positioning of the thing, so I may have it pointed at more than one bird or in between 2... is that possible?

You need to decide what sat you want and work on getting that one
