Testing Sonicview 4000
First, I would like to thank Mr. Autoroll for the free box to help me expand my knowledge.
Second, I have been a long time coolsat & pansat tester and this is going to be one of my favorite boxes besides coolsat.
I have been testing it for the past two days and really love all of the features of this box.
In the near future, this box is going to be one of the top FTA boxes on the market.
Happy testing Everyone

My Impressions of the SV-4000 are Great .
The 1st thing I noticed is the Picture Quality via S-Video is Far Superior to the D/N set up I had also using S-Video . Night & Day Difference in picture and sound Quality .
The Only short coming I have noticed so far is the Remote is quite sensitive , you need to point it Dead On to get a good signal , but that aside I would Highly Suggest to All the SV-4000 .
I am Glad I took Grasshoppers Advice on buying the SV-4000 from FTA-Pros , Great Fast Shipping on a Great Receiver . Once the SV-HD is out and perfected I will add one to my A/V Set Up ,,,

Have not had a chance to test this yet but I need to know, is it true that every time you load a Bin file you have to reset your Antenna Settings?

Sonicview 4000
Well,
I also took grasshopper's advise and upgraded to a Sonicview 4000 from a Fortec FLU. I must admit, it's quite a receiver !
However I do have one issue, I am getting all the chanels, minus the PPV's
I installed factory bin, followed by V0138
Did I miss something?
Thanks

If you are not getting the ppv you may need to try and rescan for channels. The 138 is working good on my sonicview 4000.

I rescanned 4 times...same results
I did a factory reset, reloaded V0138...samething, getting all chanels minus PPV's . whent back and I am getting PPV's with my FLU
I'm assuming my settings are all correct or I wouldn't be getting all the rest of the channels

before
you do too much go to antenna settings and check the signal and quality on 8,10 or 6,8 make sure they are strong and check all your settings if all is good then post your antenna settings for 8,10 and what you are using (your dish and lnb )most of the ppv are on 8,10

Re: Testing Sonicview 4000
I bought this SV4000 before I joined this site. I am very happy with the unit, but cannot compare it to others as I am new to FTA. One thing I am not clear on is how to do a "blind scan"
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Ron
PS got to give cudos to GH and Tomcat for all their insight and assistance.
