Re: SonicView Remote Fix
Quote: IR sensor in all the SV1000 & SV4000 receivers is misaligned in assembly and causes poor response to remote control.
Here are pic's & instructions to properly align IR sensor. When done remote will function properly even bounce off walls or ceiling.
First remove 3 screws for case and remove cover.
Next with the front of receiver towards you remove the 2 silver screws in front panel retaining clips and remove plug as shown.
Now lift the 2 retaining clips slightly and roll the front panel forward and down to release the lower plastic retaining clips.
Remove the screws in front PC board as shown and lift out PC board.Do not mix up these screws with case screws they are a dif thread.
Turn over PC board and you will see the misaligned IR sensor and the printed square on PC board where the sensor should be located, .
Now carefully bend sensor to correct location suporting it up from the PC board at same time so that the soft rubber pad on back of sensor is not compressed against PC board and replace PC board.
Now to re assemble front panel first enter the lower plastic clips up into slots in receiver bottom and roll up into position making sure the 2 side locators are even then replace the 2 silver screws.
Done !!
