SV4000 "No Signal"
My receiver was working great until yesterday night. At one point it went from "Please wait for update" to "No Signal". I did couple power turn on/off and even with the switch in the back. Currently all the satellites are showing no signal. Did my SV4000 just die? Any diagnostic help? Thanks.

I am using a switch. I did try bypassing the switch, but still no luck.

Re: SV4000 "No Signal"
I did a factory reset and uploaded the default bin. I think that has messed up things further. I still don't see signal. I am trying moving the dish as well.
After factory reset, one of the dish settings items went missing, don't remember which.

Re: SV4000 "No Signal"
Have you unhooked your STB lately and hooked it back up. Are you sure you didn't get the cables crossed on the back. The cable from the LNB goes in the 18v input, and other cable from STB out to TV. I know a lot of members that do this and loose all signal. Look and make sure...

Re: SV4000 "No Signal"
are the lnbs faulty?? If you tried everything you can think of maybe the lnb messed up somehow. My first time helping a buddy install his dish the lnb was bad and we were trying to look for signal for like 2 hrs

Guess work is for the lottery man.
Get a $20. signal meter (ebay) & set the box for 110 (or 82)...then go out there & find the bird & fine tune the signal.
Then go in and start to worry about setting up the box.
If an LNB is bad, you will know it in an instant, as soon as you hook up the meter.
The rest is easy...good signal...reset...settings...scan birds...done.
Then if you still have troubles (and you have good signal) load the factory flash file...then the current file...then do the reset...settings...scans.
* No telling what skew you have on the dish, or if your even close, so use this tool to help you find the correct skew & point the dish in the right direction. >>>
