Turning HD on

Thanks so much to everyone who has helped me setting up this box, especially Arboristman. I am almost there! I am getting all my channels now but none in HD. I was told to go back to default, start again but this time to turn on External Module. What should it be set to, before I do the install, to external A-1 module or Built-in Tuner?

Let me make sure I have this right. First, I go back to factory default. Then, I turn on External Module. Then, load the latest bin file. Then, do all my settings like I did yesterday and all the channel searches. Is that right?

close tho.
just skip loading files.
do factory default in the menue system.
and yes pick a-1 external mod.
setup user settings and antenna settings.
when your setting up-since hardware is not known really lol.just make sure the bird your setting up matches on the right hand side before scanning.(sat scan)
once each matches.sat scan it.
that will now scan in the hd's also.

So when do I load the new bin file?

you already have the latest file on there don't you?
if not,make sure to do that first.then just factory default in menu.
a factory default doesn't remove a file.it just clears all user settings and channels.

Thanks, I thought a factory reset erased the bin file. I am about to do all the steps. I can't wait to see HD on my tv! Thanks to everyone for your help, this is one GREAT website!!!

yeah once you see the HD on this girl,your going to think your right there.nothing comes close to high definition.simply amazing.

I did all the steps, can get all the channels but still cannot see things in HD. I went to the programming guide to see which programs were HD. I then went to those programs but I am unable to get an HD signal. What did I do wrong? I made sure I set it to external A-1 module. I am so very, very close.

your saying the HD channels are there in the epg?
so they scanned in?
