SV8000 EEPROM Backup?

I've seen a number of posts from SV8000 owners who for one reason or another appear to have non functioning boxes requiring a return to factory etc... To help make this a problem free transaction or allow a suitably trained owner to factory restore the device when dead (assuming its firmware and not some other hardware problem) can someone answer the following questions for me? 1) does the SV8000 have a socketed eeprom and if so what is the device part. 2) Assuming the answer to 1 is yes, has anyone tried to back up the factory eeprom and burn a backup for disaster recovery purposes?

I would say NO to both but it depends on what happened to the sv8000 but not all people buy the boxes for fta perpesses only lol they don't like third party software but they know 98% of the people use it and look at the stb and how it is made its up to you to make the choice to load third party software anyway you will or you won't they know that much Hee Hee Hee they really don't care they just don't want to know
