8000 HD setup
I just installed an 8000 hd, using a dpp 44 switch and a dish 1000, sat
110,119,and 129. I am not picking up all the transponders, especially
on 119, I have swapped cables and lnb's but it works the same so I don't think it is a bad cable or lnb. Any ideas why i can't pick up all transponders?

Re: 8000 HD setup
How do you have your 8PSK module set up to, internal or external. Post your settings for us to look at...

Re: 8000 HD setup
Don't think you need the DP 44 switch hooked up if you are using a DN 1000. dish

Re: 8000 HD setup
I have the module set up internal, I tried it with a disque switch in place
of the DPP 44 switch and it made no difference it scanned the same either
way. This was a hi def set up that worked with dish network but I could not get it to scan all transponders with a captive works 800 pvr and we installed another dish with universal lnbs and it works fine. What has me baffled is why would it work with all the channels when it was dish and it will not pick them up on other boxes?

Re: 8000 HD setup
Should be set to external module does the box show the module , you should be hooked straight to the dish and echo 7 is 119W is port 1 on the box and echo 8,x is 110W and set to port 2 and echo 5 129W set to port 3 all lnb type should be set to ocs-dp transponders for 129 is 12268 119 12239 110 12224 if your dish is setup correctly you should roll right on if not see if you get 110 in port 1 if you do the is not setup correctly let us know whats up

Re: 8000 HD setup
I don't believe it matters how you position your ports on the dpp 44 switch as long as you have the same numbers in your set up. I did have
it with 119 port 1, 110 port 2, and 129 port 3. I changed it to 129 port 1,
119 port 2, and 110 port 3. on both the dpp 44 and the settings, it still makes no difference. I read in one of the setup articles that the module
was internal, I tried it both ways and it did not seem to matter.

Re: 8000 HD setup
Also it seems to be the horizontal tp on 119 that I am missing.

Re: 8000 HD setup
You dont need the DP 44 if you do not have other stb's you are hooking up to the dish the 1000+ antenna will hookup a minium of 2 stb anyway if you have a 1000.2 you can hook up 4 receivers to the antenna without any switches installed and the ports do matter how they are assigned if you would like to come by and checkout my sv8000HD with A-1 board and 1000+ dish to see what you have done wrong come on by I'm always home. Remember if you ask for help just lesson and don't try to change what somebody says thats trying to help you with your problem setup comes first make changes later to suit yourself O.K.

Re: 8000 HD setup
I had it set up the way you suggested before you suggested it and I had
the settings exactly as you said, I have 4 stbs that work great and I am familiar with the standard settings, I moved thing around to see if it would work on different ports and switched cables to eliminate the possibility that I had defective cables or lnbs, I appreciate your help but you haven't
given me any useful info so far.

Re: 8000 HD setup
until everything is figured out try to bypass the dpp44
run 1 cable straight from lnb to the stb and see what you get that way

Re: 8000 HD setup
I finally found time to work on the setup, I ran the 119 lnb directly to the
8000hd, just for clarity I have three indiviual lnbs on my dish 1000.
This is a list of the transponders I get signal & Quality on, 12282V,12311V,12370V,
12399V,12428V,12457V,12486V,12516V.
It picked up 12326H &12384H one time but that was it, it only reads those
Vertical transponders listed above. I have the external module set for external, tried it both ways had no effect on the transponders. I have tried every combination of settings on antennia settings with no improvement. On a scan of 119 it picks up 104 tv channels & 47 radio.
110 & 129 seem to be ok.
