help, quality and strength are low

I'm very new to FTA. I just installed my SV-HD8000 with a dish 1000 on my HDTV. I'm getting low readings for the strength and quality. Here is what I got 119 S=57 Q=80, 110 S=57 Q=69, 129 S=55 Q=0 (60 when I change transponder?). My concern is that my channels are not as clear as I thought they'd be, they look worst than watching with basic cable from the wall. Does the S/Q have anything to do with my pic quality or is it just for getting a signal? I'd rather not touch my dish anymore since it took me hours to set it up but I will if a higher S/Q will make a difference in pic. The reading for S always seems to be around 57 and never goes up. Oh, I do have reception for the 129 even though it shows a Q=0 (I don't get it, but it works). Please help.

I adjusted my dish and got 93+. The image doesn't look that much better, prob my low-end HDTV or the bad cable from receiver to TV itself. My HDs do look sweet, real sweet. Thanks for your help. This site is really awesome.

Glad you got most of that sorted out, typically Sig and Qual. have to be at least 65+ or more for a decent picture. If you have less than that you have hit the SAT's sweet spot (so to speak) so some dish alignment will be in order as you have discovered.
