sv8000 setup help
i am trying to set up my new sv8000. i have installed the latest bin. i have tried 110 and 119. i performed the channell search. i find very few channels and the ones i do find say "no signal, scrambled or locked". it appears as though the quality drops to zero once i leave the sattelite set up page. any ideas on how to proceed?

Re: sv8000 setup help
Are you sure your aimed right and that your settings are correct? if not this could be the reason why your not getting a good channel list. When your in the settings for a particular sat does it confirm it on the top right hand corner? give us a list of your dish, lnb, and switches. Post your current settings so we can confirm they are correct

Re: sv8000 setup help
The number that appears in the right corner is the SAT you are pointing at.

Re: sv8000 setup help
I just went through this as well.
Basically after I loaded the bin I had to find the satellites. As I am fairly new this may be somewhat incorrect but worked for me.
go to menu, then dish setting then scroll through satellites to find below
First for the 110w I found echoStar X,11
the settings as follow
LNB Single
LNB Freq 11250
transponder 12224
Search ALL
Net search on
diseqc PORT 3 - this is where I get fuzzy I think this will be different depending on which of your LNBs is pointing to 110 W (as I was scrolling through I found that on the top right you will see the system find the sat. It will say ECHOSTAR X,11 [110.0 W]
legacy switch SW21 LNB2
once you find it hit scan all then when you find the chanels hit save, if your channels dont work I think it is wrong port.
Then I Echostar 7
for the 119w I found echoStar 7
the settings as follow
LNB Single
LNB Freq 11250
transponder 12239
Search ALL
Net search on
diseqc PORT 4 - this is where I get fuzzy I think this will be different depending on which of your LNBs is pointing to 119 W (as I was scrolling through I found that on the top right you will see the system find the sat. It will say ECHOSTAR 7 [119.0 W]
once you find it hit scan all then when you find the chanels hit save, if your channels don't work I think it is wrong port.

Re: sv8000 setup help
Make sure that in the settings you have put in (as outlined by davesfish above) that you know which LNB is on which port on your Desq Switch.

Re: sv8000 setup help
if a different sat appears in the top right hand corner it could be something as simple as your diseqc setting being wrong. What dish are you using? if its saying 129 then you probably recieving 119/110/129
does your dish look like this

Most is rite for echo 7 but the teansponder is 12239 and if you do not have a LG SW21 turn off Echo 7 is 119 and should be set as lnb 1, it will change back to TP 12224 if you change sats or if you scan its the first TP in the list for echo 7 so it starts at number and scans up the list so you have to know what TP IDs the sat to find it a lot of times Hope this helps you a little let me know how you are doing Later
