Pokerassasin,
Glad to hear you got yours up and running. Can you give me any info on where to get a power board. Was it expensive and easy to replace yourself? My SV8000 is dead with the exact symtoms you described. (2 green lights with timer icon). Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Dead SV8000 is now alive!
yah forsure bigevil is right or thats what i did. It was inexpensive but i heard there is a company on the fleabay that will exchange boards or fix them for you fairly cheap as well.
it is very easy to do but the only thing i found is that the board did not come with a external power cord for the A-1 board. also the connection for the power was not the same as my old board. sooo i solder and swapped them out. i had the have the version 1. without fan as well

Re: Dead SV8000 is now alive!
Hi,
Just curious how old these units were when they started giving you problems. Did they start acting up first or did they just die during an update or something? It sounds like they either used very cheap caps in the PS or they just got a bad batch of caps.
Thanks

Its hard to speculate really, electronics can be fickle. Those are SOLID units.

Re: Dead SV8000 is now alive!
Hi,
Yes I understand electronics can be feckle as I've been designing electronics gear for almost 30 years. I have a 8000 and it's been working fine for about 10 months so far, thus the reason for the questions.
Thanks
