Help with 129º
Ok I'm using a Phase III dish which I know doesn't work too well for fta but I had it picking up Bev 91º just fine. So I decided why not move it to 129º and pick up that bird since 91º is now N3. Well I can get the right lnb to lock on to 119º ok with about 86% quality (when lookinig out the dish from behind). I know its the right lnb because I had the others covered with tinfoil. Now shouldn't 129º be then lined up with the middle lnb? Or even the left lnb? Also with my Sv 8k I don't have the 8psk board yet but do I need that? I read where there are some SD channels up on 129º so I thought I'd be able to receive those. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
If I can get 119º that strongly why isn't 129º directly to the left of it? Thats what I don't understand.

Re: Help with 129º
You will also need to add the 8psk board to recieve HD channels on that bird

Re: Help with 129º
the dish sucks.ditch it lol.
it doesn't have the proper 9 degree spacing,so your only going to be able to get a little bit of both 119/129 if you try really hard and get lucky.
i wouldn't even waste your time buddy.
btw tho,if your just gunna keep trying anyway lol, take into account the dish is a reflector(like a mirror) thus reversing the side each birds are in the sky.

Thanks guys I know this was a pain in a$$ to set up the first time around for 91º.
And arboristman I spun that thing to the right (standing from behind the dish) figuring that I would hit 129º and nothing. Since as looking out from the back of the dish it should be 91º to my left then 110º, 119º and then 129º but like I said nothing. Which led to me believe then if I can get 119º on the right lnb (standing from behind the dish) then 129º has to be aimed at the middle or left lnb....or **** close. But still nothing. So I need the 8psk anyways? Or can I get a signal of just the SD channels? If I positively have to have the 8psk to get a signal at all then I'm not going to waste my time on this anymore. If I don't I might try it a little more tomrrow.
I've got a dish 500 dp twin tuned to 110º and 119º so this phase III is just something to play around with. All I really want to get is 129º with it.

Re: Help with 129º
You don't need the module to get the signal but the odds of you getting 119 and 129 at the same time are next to impossible.

Re: Help with 129º
NO, no, no I don't want 119º and 129º at the same time I realize the spacing is all wrong I got that understood. You're not understanding me here or something. All I want is 129º thats it. I was able to hit 110º and 119º with the right lnb so I marked them on the mast and on the skew they were about 20º apart. 110º was at a skew of 52 and 119º was a skew of 72 so mathematically then 129º should be at around 92 right? Wrong its not working for whatever reason. Thats why I was wondering if I need that module or something. I was tuned to TP 12282 during this process. I mean hell if I have 119º on the right lnb and turn the dish east (from behind the dish) and hit 110º with 20º less skew, then 129º should be to the west of 119º (from behind the dish) and more or less 20º more in skew. Any other suggestions besides the ones already stated. I got that I can't get more then 1 birb with this dish at the same thats not my intention. Again did I say I only wanna hit 1 bird that being 129º. Any other tips appreciated unless you're gonna tell me that I can't hit more then 1 bird with this dish.....

So just use the single satellite settings huh? Don't pick the "multi lnb"?
I can't figure out why its so hard to hit this **** bird. I hit 91º, 110º and 119º all with this thing and now can't get this one bird. Alrighty I'm going outside and try this ONE more time....if it don't work I'm through with this hunk of junk...lmfao.

Re: Help with 129º
those phase 3 lnbs are pretty worthless for fta
you can get 1 sat with them be better off if you only want 1 sat at a time just get a single lnb and put on that dish or a multi lnb brackett and get what ever you want
yes use the single

Re: Help with 129º
Thats it I'm done with this thing. I have read about hooking up a single lnb to the 119º side of my dish 500 dp twin. Does that really work? I saw a pic of a guy that had a legacy twin hose clamped alongside his dp twin on the 119º side and said it pulled in 129º with no problems. If that will work I may order one and go that route instead. If that does work does it matter if its a dish legacy or dtv lnb?
