Coolsat 8000HD - Can't load files

I just received my CS8000. It works fine, EXCEPT, I can't get it to take the download. I am using loader 2.24, file 107 02 02 2007.

On the loader it gives me information:
H/W 1.00.00
S/W 11.13.8F
MOD ID C146 ???

I am using a null cable. Start the loader, turn off receiver with switch in back, then, turn back on. It goes thru the "LDL" routine, but does not accept the load.

What am I doing wrong???

Still Frustrated

Have made no progress on the down load issue I am having. I feel really stupid, but can't get it to load. The 2.24 loader shows no progress after I've turned the unit back on. I've waited up to 2 mins for load to start, but no result.
Here is the system information showing on screen on the CS8000:
Model ID: 4600C146
H/W Version: 1.00.00
S/W Version: 11.13.4A
Is this the correct version?? I have tried to enter keys manually, but, when I get to Advanced Menu and enter 1-2-3-4, nothing happens??

I tried downloading on two different computers....same result, No Loading. Precess indicater on 2.24 does not move. Also, tried loading key with Key Loader. Same!! No progress on download indicator.

Make sure you are using the right Null serial cable to run it. Also you need to hit START first befor you power up your coolsat

I have verified with the vendor I bought the unit from that he did, in fact, send a NULL RS232 cable. Also, I used the NULL cable I use to update my Pansat 3500, so I know this cable is OK.

I was tallking with a friend earlier tonight, he said he read somewhere that there is a new loader 2.25?? Maybe the version I am using will not work with Windows 64-bit, don't know.

Is there a way to force a download to the unit? By the way, I did get the factory flash off the Coolsat site, but, I could not load it either. I was hoping there is a way to make the receiver accept what is feed thru the 232-port, but, don't want to harm the receiver.

Is it possible to have a corrupt loader?? When I unzipped it it told me some files I have on my computer are newer than the files in the "UPDATE" file, is this normal?

There is no newest loader for CS 8000, loader 224 is the only one that I know of. It could be a bad file try to download it and try again. Also you need to run setup EXE that came with it.

Problem Continues

Still can't download to CS8000. I wonder if the flash ROM took a hit. Is there a way to reset the flash ROM to get it to accept a load??

Any ideas??

I wonder did you unzip / extract files after you downloaded them to your documents?
If not the Loader will not work & the Bin can not be found in Loader until unzipped / extracted.
If it is working properly, you will be able to read the file name in loader browser window.

Like SJ said, maybe you need to unzip all the files before you use it. Don't use it if it's still in zip file

I unzipped the file, the name is: "CS8000HD-11140F.sgn". When I put it in the loader, the info on the left side reads:
HW 1.00.00
SW 11.140F
MOD ID C146 ???

When putting it in the loader (2.24) I have to select to browse .sgn files and it pops up all of them in the file I created, then I select the latest .sgn
file and open it.

The original factory file is still in the receiver and working well, except, can't enter keys. Can this receiver be J-Taged, as another way to get past the RS232 port that does not seem to work. I start the download whit the receiver in "Standby", turn off the switchin back, then, turn it back on, and nothing happens. I've used two different cables and 3 different computers and get the same result.

You don't start a download with the unit in stand by...it should be powered up & turned ON.
I wish I knew more about this new unit (8000) but all other CoolSat models use "8282" to open Key Edit page.
There is another way to do it but I forget now. Hold down 2 buttons at once, I just can't remember which 2 it is.
But don't jtag a new unit under warranty...take it back to the seller if it's broke.
If you can't get to the Key Edit page...then you have issues bro...
We got to get that part figured out...it could be your problem.
Because it is vital to be able to verify which keys you are using.
If your keys are not current & unit won't roll the first time...we need to be able to enter them manually to force unit to work.
Once the unit works...we deal with autoroll not working as a seperate issue.
Use this link to get info on keys.>>>

I tried a download with the receiver turned on, but got same results, no download. I have tried to get to the keys menu, but, again, no matter what password I enter; 1234, 5678, 8282. Nothing works. If I enter 0000, then it goes to "Reset Factory Default."

The factory S/W is 11.13.4A, the latest .sgn file is 11.14.0F. Does the factory file have the keys menu in it? Or, do I need the new file to get the change keys menu??

When I power the unit up, it goes to "Ld", but only reloads what is in the unit, not what is being fed to it thru the RS232 port. I see a flash on the
TV screen just before it goes to "Ld", I think it might be defaulting to the current factory load.
