Can't load CS8000. Serious question.

Got my new CS8000 today. Have all the instructions and I am not a newbie.
Trying to load s/w with 224, 225 and 301 loaders. Clicking on start, restarting the receiver per instructions. Receiver is showing "upgrading s/w please wait" and in a few seconds switching back to an empty channel. Upload doesn't start.
Tried to disable Norton to open ports - no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Are you trying to load the channel list or the program?

Trying to load a program, not the channels.

If you are using a USB to RS232 you must go into windows device manager and find what COM port has been assign to it. In the loader (by the way I use 225) change to that com port (upper right on the screen).

I am using a regular serial cable, not USB to serial. Name of the port is COM1 and it worked fine with Coolsat 5000. I am doing exactly what the latest post is recommending, but the loading process does not start. The progress bar is not moving and the screen after saying "loading s/w" is switching to channel 110 with no audio and video. S/w does not load.
Please help!!

Are you sure you are using the serial cable that came with that receiver and not another one?

Finally everything worked fine. I changed COM port name from COM1 to COM2 and changed port to COM2 in the loader. Files loaded OK. Might be a good hint for other people who use old laptops. :-))
Thanks to everyone who helped!
