Continuous Loop
I have had this problem from day one. When I'm setting up the 8000HD at a remote loacation using composite output and left/right audio the system is stable and will work for days. The minute I move the unit to the permanent location using HDMI connection video and digital audio output, the unit will work for about an hour and then shut down go thru a reboot, work for a minute and then repeat the cycle over and over. Also, everytime I shut the unit off, it boots to a time 14 hours in advance of my local time (which I set up in the istallation menu). Using 11154F. Anyone else having simular problems?

Sorry, I have been gone for a week, but I am having the same exact problem. Having the 8000HD in a remote location and using the component video cables, no problem, the unit doesnt' even get warm. As soon as I put it in a permanent location with the HDMI video and the digital audio cables, it gets hot and shuts down. I have a small cooling fan blowing on it now and it helps. Also the clock will not stay set, it keeps advancing an hour.

Thanks Jess I was beginning to think it was just me. We need to hear from others using the HDMI out.

Plimzol. I just put a little cooling fan from an old computer right on top of the receiver over the cooling holes. It has totally taken care of the problem. It has been working great. Doesn't even get warm.

You can connect it to the power supply of the receiver itself.

The fan is a 12V. I used a 110V to 12V transformer, like the power supply on your car phone charger or like a re-chargeable flashlight. It is still working great. You could probably get a little 110V fan from Radio Shack.
