loosing signal
Is anyone else having problem with signal strength on 110 & 119? I keep losing the signal with the picture freezing and scrambling. Signal strength keeps going from 99 to 0 for about a week or so. I live in the woods and don't know if the trees have grown and now in the way. Just checking first to see if anybody else is experiencing this problem before I go up and try to relocate the dish. Happening with both the CS 6000 and 8000.
thanks in advance for your help.

Jess, if thi is happening on both your STB's, I would first check my connections on my dish, make sure they are good and tight, also, check at your switch, if you are useing one and make sure it is tight also. If you find everything tight, try to do a reboot on both...

thanks guys. It does it so often, it locks up the 8000 and I have to do a reboot to get it back. I also have a separate dish for Bev with a DP34 switch and Bev seems to be fine. All the connections from lnb to switch and out of switch is good and tight. I'm not sure if I have a bad switch, I'll do some more testing. thanks for your advice-all is needed. Any more ideas would be appreciated. Jess

Bypass your switch and go directly to 119 and monitor it for a few hours to see if it still cuts out,or runs fine, then you'llhve your answer.
Happy Testing.

Jess, you might try doing a factory default, write down your dish settings, because this will erase all your settings. Go into dowload and get factory bin file and load. Then, get latest coolsat bin and load. Then rescan the birds and see if this helps...if I can think of anything else to try, I'll holler...

yep, I bypassed the switch and ran 119 direct to the receiver and it is still doing it. I'm wondering if the trees grew that much that they are in the way now. Big oak trees look like they could be in line with the dish. I am going to try to relocate the dish higher on the peak to an existing pole from an old direct tv. thanks again.

I'd bet it on the trees jess. I just had a friend who had to move his dishes because they grew to much and he was loosing signal. After he re positioned his dishes it worked fine.
But also check to see if your set up has come loose by wind and it might have caused it to shifted a bit..
I still think its the trees though.
