Dongle (IKS) Program Update Instruction For Coolsat 8000/8100 and Homesat

1. Connect Dongle into serial port (power should be off).
2. Run “UPDATE.exe” executable file from unzipped UPDATE folder.



* User should unzip the UPDATE folder before executing program file

3. When user runs UPDATE file, the following will be displayed.



4. Make a selection of COM port



5. Press “Download Program” button while the power of Dongle is off



6. After powering on, the number displayed at the below of com selector is getting increased, then it is being downloaded.



7. When the downloading is successful and completed, “DONE” will be shown.

The little yellow 7 with the globe lookin thing is the update.exe.

i was told i could use the update on the cs7000 but cant find the update file or the yellow 7

Here is the file you seek, linked below. This software was released a month ago. You need to have a dongle to use it.

To answer your question above, the dongle goes into the back of the receiver, and a Cat5 cable goes from the dongle into a router. A router will "share" your internet connection between your computer and your dongle.

Coolsat 7000 IKS Dongle Setup Instructions

Dongle software update and instructions:
Coolsat IKS Setup

1. Download above software for the dongle.
*** READ THIS NOTE *** - When updating dongle software on a straight through serial cable you must use a null adapter or just use a null modem cable for this.
(Remember the serial cable you got with your receiver is a straight wired cable)
2. Then install latest bin to the Coolsat receiver.
3. Plug in the dongle into the Coolsat with the ethernet and AC adapter.
5. Perform factory reset and hard boot the Coolsat unit from the rear power switch.
6. Setup satellites and scan in channels.

After one has followed all of your instructions is there anyway to confirm that the dongle is indeed working without having to wait for an ECM?

Also, if my dongle is null (for CS8100)do I use a null modem cable to program it or will i require a straight thru?? I have used a null to program the dongle just wondering if that was the right thing to do or would it just not work with a straight?

i have a static ip, how do i go about changing the ip address of the dongle? what program do i use and where do i go to get it. Much appreciated (i hear the dongle uses dynamic ip addresses and can get it automatically but static ip addresses must be manually input)
