I think it is going to be the thing for the future, but that could change. I have 4 brands of receivers 2 can run on IKS and the others run on stand alone files(which we all Im sure we all perfer) When the ecm hits I switch to IKS. At the present time we all know there are only two receivers that can run on IKS, Im not sure other receivers will go to the troube or the expense,
somewhere down the road if you dont have IKS feature, you may be in for a very serious down side on their sales. I think you will probale see a lot of receivers go to the scrap pile (door stops as most people say)

Re: do you think IKS is a future feature we will see on more receivers in the future?
i like most here test with a stand alone unit but i have added the nfusion to the mix.i would of course prefer full emu as would anyone.i do sometimes wonder when that happens if charlie would bite the bullett and go to the niagra 3 that from what i understand is very complex and capable.with all the mapcalls and timer functions it seems to me that iks is a very viable solution for alot of companies that could not upgrade the memory and processing power that full emu may require.i am not an expert nor do i claim to be but this is how i see if from what i read and understand.

Re: do you think IKS is a future feature we will see on more receivers in the future?
personally i don't think they all will go to it especially viewsat and pansat because they have enough attention at the time with their court cases why would they possibly want to give anyone anymore ammunition. i don't down anyone for going to the iks brands, its each persons choice but true testers will stay with stand alone boxes because that is all part of the testing like now. we don't write the code but we go back and test old files to see what works the best for us

ya its true because each person knows what company to trust and their internet service provider
So i think IKS is for people that are sure they want to use it

I think Full Emulation is closer than everyone thinks. Coders are getting more and more info on a full fix...

I don't believe in Full EMU for now but Temps patch will be a way to go.
Nope, for me IKS won't be the future.

Re: do you think IKS is a future feature we will see on more receivers in the future?
well i think the more options you have the better cas and the iks auto roll etc what ever works good .. but i agree with GH a full fix would be the best but then they are going to throw other stuff at us ..
the game will always be on..

Re: do you think IKS is a future feature we will see on more receivers in the future?
I have considered what everyone has said in this forum and others, plus I have used numerous boxes in the few years of FTA; IKS sounds great, but still lacking of things like HD, real support ( like our forums) there is something there not right(my opinion). I have had good service from CS4 and CS5, so I'm going with the CS8100. Hope I won't be dissapointed. I have had all 4 major brands and for the end results; I'll stay with CS, the support is there(not for the previous boxes) and quality is great. I have seen alot of talk from one place to the other. Support is a plus!!!! CW has it and VS, CS, Pans; but turn around vers price and quality. Support is there! My $ in on CS and hope we all stay up. Thank You all for your opinions they sure are decision makers. And HD is here and the future

Re: do you think IKS is a future feature we will see on more receivers in the future?
i believe the IKS is great for those that are not computer savee, for all of us that enjoy loading the temp bins , the full Emu will be sweet.
if we all had iks only we wouldnt have these sites and the hobby would be lost.
the comraderie would be gone.

Re: do you think IKS is a future feature we will see on more receivers in the future?
FYI:
since this poll began there has been some exiting news.
sonysat announced iks via external dongle in the making for (i think their 4000 and 5000 models.don't quote me on that, but pretty sure those are the model numbers, without double checking.)
yeah here it is:
::: IKS ::: On Sonysat Line " Soon"
Compatible w/ Sonysat DSR5000-4000, Spacestar 500-700, UltraStar 4000-5000 , Only ... Using ""X1 Dongle""
captian now announces iks for all their models via the same way.an external dongle.
"word" going around is that captiveworks may be joining in on the iks action at some point as well.

Re: do you think IKS is a future feature we will see on more receivers in the future?
I think iks is the way of the future but I voted no because people are affraid of the 'risk' involved in it.,.,full emu. or the 'super bin' should remain the main focus.
